Best wishes in New Year

It seems like yesterday when we were turning our calenders to 2016. Now the last issue of The Standard for this year is here!

To the students who are starting their exams, our prayers are with you, for we know that your hard work will soon pay off.

Those who made grave mistakes of not preparing well thus far, it is never too late. As long as you have not yet entered that examination room, there is still a chance to make amends. Read up on what you can in whatever little time you have left, as this could make a difference in your performance.

The rest of us not sitting for exams. We still have our work cut out as the year ends: some of us will be grading exams, others preparing budgets for the new year, or even transitioning into new roles, come 2017. Whatever it is you are headed for, Godspeed!

As 2016 comes to an end, The standard will have a change of guards for we shall see new staff members come in, and bid a fond farewell to those who have faithfully served thus far. This paper has been run by a group of talented and devoted youth who have done a commendable job. They have played an indispensable part in building this community by informing, educating, entertaining and often challenging us to be better people in many ways.

We officially welcome the new team on board, and urge the community to work harmoniously with them as we all continuously labour towards the goal of making this the centre of excellence in the heart of Africa.

We would also like to thank the UCU community for being loyal readers of this paper. We are happy to report that all the 2016 issues flew off the shelves. The support of our committed contributors is also not taken for granted; thank you too!

Share the love of Christ with others this Christmas season. We wish you the Lord’s best and highest in 2017.
