The Directorate of Student Affairs, in conjunction with the warden of Nsibambi Hall, held a male mentorship public lecture at Uganda Christian University, Mukono.

The lecture was held on October 22 under the theme: “Generic skills for university students in the 21st Century”. It was intended to re- define, re-invent the role of men in society and also mould excellent morals among students.

The subjects discussed included abortion, drunkenness vis-à- vis alcohol addiction, incest, pornography and promiscuous sex among the youth.

The DOSA, Mrs Ayo Birabi; Dr Leon Matagi, a lecturer at Makerere University; Dr Alfred Olwa, the dean Faculty of Divinity and Theology; and Dr Allan Birabi, a senior lecturer at Makerere University; they all spoke to the students.

Dr Birabi, the chief guest and author of several books including Merging Indigenous African and Western Knowledge Systems: Implications for Architectural Education in East Africa, advised students to be ethical and professional.
