Team UCU set for East Africa University Games in Nairobi

Over 12 Uganda Christian University (UCU) teams are set to compete at this year’s East Africa University Games from December 17-21 at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Nairobi.

The probable list of teams meant to represent the university include; volleyball (men and women), athletics, badminton, chess, taekwondo, netball, tennis, rugby, wood ball, basketball (men and women).

The other teams that are not yet confirmed are football (men and women), swimming, handball among others.

The team’s will depart on the December  14.

UCU finished third overall out of 47 universities which it hosted in December, 2014, bagging 13 gold

medals, 15 silver and 14 bronze  making a total of 42 medals overall, in an event that saw Ndejje University emerge as overall  champions.

The event will have  22 different disciplines including  a demonstrational showcase as opposed to UCU’s 17 games participated in, when they hosted.

Some of those not to travel may include both boys and girls football teams.
